Payment terms in plain English
The words payment companies use, and what they mean for your money. This help text is written for this site; facts about each company are on its page, with links.
Where the facts come from
Nothing about a company is written from memory. Every fact links to the page it came from.
Their own website first
Prices, payout times, contracts, and what they hold back come from each company's own pricing pages, merchant terms, help center, and official documents. Each one links to the exact page.
Then outside sources
Where a company doesn't say something, we add what others report, labeled by type:
- Review sites like Merchant Maverick, NerdWallet, and Fit Small Business
- Trustpilot, Better Business Bureau, Capterra, and app store reviews from businesses
- Forums, news, and government or regulator decisions
What we leave out
- Blogs from companies that compete with the one being reviewed
- Sites that say their content is AI-generated
- Reviews from shoppers rather than business owners
"Not on their website"
We looked and the company doesn't say. The link shows the page we checked. Some sites also blocked automated reading, which shows up the same way.
Before you sign
Terms change, and what they hold back is often set when you apply. Open the link, and get the terms in writing. This is not financial or legal advice.
